Call ahead if you can as wait times can be a bit long for walk up. But, oh the fried chicken is the best in town! Everything on the menu is good, so if you want a po-boy, you can't go wrong, they are all good. Nicest people you'll ever meet work there, from the counter to the cooks.

The fried shrimp po' boy was excellent. Other menu items included broasted chicken, burgers, and catfish.
The atmosphere is casual. There was a Christmas tree decorated in red, white and blue for the Fourth of July. There's lots of seating. There's a counter, where your order is taken. Food is brought to your table.
Service was efficient--civil, not friendly. -

I used to go here when I was a child so when I moved back to the area last year I had to go.
I ordered the shrimp basket. The shrimp were overcooked so bad they were hard as a rock. The shrimp and fries stank of old oil. I know because I used to work in the restraint business and know what it smells and tastes like.
I tried chewing one shrimp and spit it out. Same with the fries.
It's really gone downhill. -

Okay I am an out of towner and needed a review stacked place to give a try. Well, I gave the "home of the ORIGINAL po-boy" a go. The food is okay... Had chicken tenders, fried chicken, and a shrimp poy-boy with curlie Q fries. The po-boy was teenie tiny. I mean it was smaller than a burger and coated in mayo. The fried chicken had a burnt grease taste and lastly the tenders where the worse. The tenders were "broasted" and that apparently means dried out without a crust or breading. *******the reason it is a 3 is because this place has an awesome personal Pecan Pie******* so let's sum this up:
-bad attitude/even when asking questions.
-not the cleanest place
-slow
-small amounts with regular pricing
-substandard food (except for awesome pie)
